The trials and pre season training for our 2016 National Premier League squads will begin 17 November for all six NPL grades.  Trials and pre season training are one and the same, so all continuing and new players are welcome, and will continue through to December each Tuesday and Thursday.  Pre season will begin again Tuesday 12th January after a Christmas break.

To help with admin on the nights, we have a form for players to complete and bring with them on the night.  We need the form for all players trialling for NPL13 to NPL18, and for new players trialling for NPL20 and NPL firsts. Please find the form here.

2015 saw us send three of our six NPL teams to the finals, we won the NPL18s Grand Final and produced three Golden Boot winners and Player of the Year in three leagues.  We also made the local semi finals of the Westfield FFA Cup.

Our NPL coaching team is the best in town, and includes both new and familiar faces.  Miro Trninic will coach the first grade squad, an A-Licence coach with extensive experience at the top local level and professional playing experience in Europe, Trninic is one of the region’s most respected coaches.  With Michael Aldred moving to our WPL program, Alex Trninic will take up the NPL16s coaching spot after successful stints with Woden Weston last year.  Stan Mitchell, Mauro Charles, Matt Selems and Brent Chick all remain in their positions after very successful campaigns in 2015.

Steve Kunovec takes on the Technical Director role, and will look over the strategic direction of our on-field programs and coaching development.  Steve holds a ‘B’ coaching licence and has five years of Capital Football ACT representative coaching experience at the Under 14s level.  He coached the ACT Schoolboys in 2012, coached Canberra FC at PL18 and PL20 level and worked under Ante Juric at the NSW NTC program.  Steve’s playing experience spans O’Connor Knights, Newcastle Breakers and Edgeworth Eagles and we welcome him to the Tuggies family.
