The boys in Capital League Reserves have stormed home this season with run that has them unbeaten since mid-June. This put them firmly in fourth place and after finals victories over Canberra Olympic and Weston-Molonglo we are now sitting pretty on Grand Final day this Saturday. The opposition is daunting, there’s no doubt about it, ANU FC topped the league with a 12 point buffer, winning 15 of their 18 matches. But that won’t phase our CLR lads, who are one of our most experienced groups including club stalwarts such as Michael “Rocky” Lee, and Andrew Miscevich, as well as a good spread of goal-scoring talent. Jon Taskovski, Kristopher Robertson and Michael Sellers each have 5 goals on the board with 11 other players scoring for the team during the season.
The pressure is on ANU this Saturday, our boys have proved they deserve their GF berth, they’ve put in an outstanding season and can be proud of their achievements. We are ready to knock them over and claim the silverware in front of a big and loud Tuggies crowd. Good luck from all in the club to the team and the coaching staff of Tony Olivera and Alex Redmond.
The Capital League Reserves Grand Final is this Saturday at Hawker Football Centre, kicking off at 4pm. Let’s get a big Tuggies crowd there to cheer the boys on!
