We are pleased to welcome two new coaches to our Women’s Premier League Program for the 2016 season. Troy Boots will guide the WPL20s squad and Kim Morgan will on the WPL18s, joining our new Head Coach Michael Aldred.
Troy will be well known to long time Tuggies fans, a goal keeper who played his youth days with the club, moving into the Premier League U19s, Reserves and breaking into the first grade squad in the mid-90s. He also played ACT Premier League for UC Pumas and Weston Creek. Troy’s began coaching at Tuggies as well, taking the Under 19s to the Preliminary Final in 1994. More recently Troy has been coaching girls football at Brindabella Blues for the past seven years, and brings a wealth of local football experience to our club.
Kim is a former local WPL player, most recently plying her trade with Canberra Olympic before injury left her on the sideline last year. Kim has been coaching youth Futsal for the past five years as well as two seasons coaching Canberra Girls Grammar Under 12s and Under 14s, who were undefeated this year. She is looking forward to the season with Tuggeranong United, and to becoming part of our Club.
2015 was one of our most successful WPL seasons, with two teams making the semi finals, and with this experience coaching team looking to build on those successes, 2016 is looking bright!
