TUFC’s Women’s Premier League program for 2016 will begin with pre season Monday evening trainings beginning 19 October and running until 14 December. There will also be a series of trials for existing and new players during that time, details below. These are for all three WPL grades.
The 2015 season was a big success and another improvement on previous seasons. Both WPL and WPL17s made their finals series and the standard of play has improved across the board.
We have plans that will give us an exciting and competitive first team as well as creating and developing excellent pathways for our younger girls to achieve their dreams of playing WPL.
Over the coming months you will see announcements that will show our commitment to creating an environment that will lead to individual and team success.
This will involve the arrival of new players, appointment of coaches and a new structure to create pathways for all players to achieve their goals.
In 2016 the Capital Football Women’s Premier Leagues will consist of WPL (first grade), WPL20s with up to 3 overage players, WPL18s with up to 3 overage players under 20. There will also be a WPL16s competition that is open to all clubs and TUFC will field a team in this new league.
Preseason is an important element of any successful side and this year is no different. It is important that all players looking to play WPL next season attend the training as this is the opportunity to press your claims for a spot in the squads for 2016.
All prospective WPL players should attend, with appropriate football wear (shin pads) and water etc. and be ready to train at 6.30pm
